[sm_hr] Q: Are there classes just for men or just for women?
A: No. Krav Maga was designed for the Israeli Defense Forces, where men and women have to be able to protect themselves in all situations, so that’s how our program works too. However, we do offer a ladies only kick-boxing class.
[sm_hr] Q: Is Krav Maga just punching and kicking – what about Fitness?
A: Krav Maga utilizes high intensity drills, conditioning and training methods. You will leave sweaty and exhausted. Get in shape and go home safe!
[sm_hr] Q: What can I expect from a Krav Maga Level 1 Class?
A: You will learn valuable self defense skills and get a great workout at the same time! You will learn combatives such as punching, kicking, elbows and knees. You will also learn self defense techniques like getting out of a choke or bear hug and perform drills based on these real life situations.
[sm_hr] Q: How “fit” do I have to be?
A: Whatever your fitness level, you will be able to take part in our Level 1 classes! Through conditioning, drills and pad work we will help you build your fitness and stamina. One of the great things about Krav Maga is that it was designed to work for anyone, regardless of their age, athletic ability or level of experience. Our classes are physically challenging, however every exercise, drill, or technique is designed to help you improve – regardless of your current fitness level. We will be there to support you every step of the way
[sm_hr] Q: Is Krav Maga a good idea for a woman?
A: Yes, Yes and Yes! Krav Maga by definition gives a smaller/weaker person real life street advantage against a larger/stronger assailant. Women are naturally targeted for various assaults, from domestic violence to robberies to attacks of a sexual nature, date-rapes and stalkers. Unlike other martial arts which rely on a person’s strength and size for advantage Krav Maga will give you the edge you need to never be a part of the statistics.
[sm_hr] Q: What should I wear/bring to class?
A: Wear comfortable gym clothes. Gym shorts or pants, t-shirt and sneakers. Bring water, a towel and lots of energy! If you have grappling gloves or boxing gloves bring those as well.
